INSTALLATION

TOI-MÊME LA ROSE is a photo-video installation based on the famous poem by Pierre de Ronsard "Ode à Cassandre" (1545). Still and moving images are presented in a dark room as if  they were printed on the retina of Cassandre's eye. As if we entered her look. On the outside, the room looks like a "black box", with the first line of the poem written over and over again on the walls: "MIGONNE ALLONS VOIR SI LA ROSE". The text guides us unto the entrance of the room where new words are to be discovered -"TOI-MÊME LA ROSE, TOI-MÊME LA ROSE". Now is the time to enter Cassandre's own poem.
